Located in Quebec, Service Marine Canada is one of the largest propeller workshops in North America. Since its founding more than 50 years ago, the company has established itself as a key player in the repair and sale of propellers for commercial vessels such as lake barges, commercial ships, fishing boats, tugboats, ferry and icebreaker. In addition to these services, it also offers solutions for pleasure craft.

The rise of Dominique Plouffe

Dominique Plouffe joined Service Marine in 2000 as a welder, before leaving to take on new challenges. In 2009, he returned as owner and, two years later, acquired five competing propeller shops. Thanks to his unique vision and expertise, he has expanded the company’s range of services by integrating new technologies and know-how related to marine propulsion.

Solutions for propellers up to 39 feet in diameter

Service Marine Canada offers propeller repair services for propellers up to 39 feet in diameter, as well as a complete range of solutions including coupling, marine bearings, shafts, nozzles, and rudders. With its two machining workshops and two large repair facilities, the company meets diverse maritime needs both in Canada and internationally.

GREATER PRECISION IN INSPECTION AND REPAIR

Advanced solutions for propeller analysis and adjustment

The adoption of HydroComp’s PropCad and PropExpert software has simplified the design and calculation of propellers, providing efficient solutions for both new designs and repowering projects. With an accuracy of over 90% in their calculations, Service Marine has expanded its customer base and improved client satisfaction. The use of TrueProp has also optimized the inspection and repair of propellers, helping to address issues related to vibration and fuel consumption while refining geometry.
